Well, worry not, we will tell you the easy way to create bath bombs. And the best part? It can be done in three steps.
What You Need to Prepare
The main ingredients for bath bombs are baking soda, corn starch, citric acid, Epsom salt, food colorant, and vegetable oil. The ratio of all dry ingredients is 2:1:1:1. This means, for every 2 parts of baking soda, you would only need 1 part of corn starch, citric acid, and Epsom salt. Of course, you could add some essential oils for the scents, but it’s totally optional. Other optional additions are edible flowers and body glitter.
Three Simple Steps
First, prepare all the ingredients in a bowl or container. Make sure that the bowl or container is dry and made of plastic or glass. As an extra precaution, you can wear latex gloves. In another container, mix a couple tablespoon of vegetable oil with a couple drops of essential oil and food colorant. This is when you can experiment with your favorite scents and colors.
Second, mix all the dry ingredients in the bowl using a spatula or wooden spoon. Add the wet mixture one teaspoon at a time until it reaches the right consistency. You will want it to be slightly crumbly, so it will dissolve perfectly when you put it in the bathtub.
The last step is to put them in silicone molds and let them rest to dry. Depending on the mold size, the drying can take at least four hours to a whole day. When it’s completely dry, individually wrap them with cellophane for storage. Now you can have extra luxury in your daily bath.
You can be very creative with the essential oils and food colorant. However, it is suggested to only use one color and at most two essential oils mixed in. That is to let your senses actually could enjoy the experience. Most popular essential oils used are lavender and vanilla. However, you also can add perfume oil or another scent that you like. Now that you know how to make bath bombs, you are guaranteed for a better bathing experience from now on.
